The scaffold hammer has a balanced solid head at one end and a tapered spike (podger) at the other end, called a cranked drift pin. The drift pin is used to push into bolt holes to line them up so a bolt can pass through the holes without being forced and damaged. It comes with a hole going through the shaft for easy attachment to a Safety Lanyard.
